The nutritional content and active ingredients of moringa oléïfera

- Moringa leaves are an advanced dietary supplement. They are rich in nutrients, and active principles and are consumed easily without any bitterness.

- Foliage has a very interesting protein content (90%): 8-9% moist weight, about 25% dry weight, vitamin A (almost 2000 micrograms per 100g), vitamin C (180 mg Per 100 g), vitamin B1 (220 micrograms per 100g), calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, zinc, copper, sulfur and other alkaline elements. Moreover, the protein is of superior quality, low in fat and easily assimilated by the body.

- A study done in Thailand in 2007 shows that moringa contains antioxidant substances that further lower blood lipid levels.

- A 2007 Japanese study shows that the consumption of Moringa leaves improves diabetes in naturally diabetic rats. The active compounds appear to be ubiquitous polyphenols in plants: derived from quercetin, kaemferol, rutin and certain phenol acids (chlorogenic acid).

- Better alkaline feeding is effective in strengthening psychological functions. The chlorophyll content is eight times greater than that contained in vegetables.

The therapeutic effects of moringa
