NATURAL REMEDY FOR HYDROCELE

A hydrocele is a kind of node in the scrotum that appears when fluid collects in the thin sheath surrounding a testicle.

A hydrocele is common in newborns and usually disappears without treatment by age 1. Older boys and adult men can develop a hydrocele due to inflammation or injury within the scrotum.

A hydrocele is usually painless and might not need any cure. But if you have scrotal swelling, see your doctor or a therapist.

Follow me to know more about its causes, symptoms, and treatment.

SYMPTOMS

The common sign of a hydrocele is a harmless node of one or both testicles.

Adult men with a hydrocele might experience discomfort from the heaviness of a swollen scrotum. Pain generally increases with the size of the soreness. Sometimes, the node area might be smaller in the morning and larger later in the day.

HYDROCELE CAUSES

Baby boys

A hydrocele can grow up before birth. Normally, the testicles come down from the developing baby's abdominal cavity into the scrotum. A bag followed each testicle, allowing fluid to surround the testicles. Usually, each bag closes and the fluid is sucked up.

Sometimes, the fluid remains after the bag closes (noncommunicating hydrocele). The fluid is usually sucked up gradually within the first year of life. But from time to time, the bag remains open (communicating hydrocele). The bag can change size or if the scrotal sag is compressed, fluid can flow back into the abdomen. Communicating hydroceles is often associated with inguinal hernia.

Older males

A hydrocele can develop as a result of a wound or soreness within the scrotum. Soreness might be caused by an infection in the testicle or the small, coiled tube at the back of each testicle (epididymitis).

 HYDROCELE TREATMENTS

Medical treatment

In baby boys, a hydrocele sometimes disappears on its own. But for males of any age, a doctor needs to evaluate a hydrocele because it can be associated with an underlying testicular condition.

A hydrocele that doesn't disappear on its own might need to be surgically removed, typically as an outpatient procedure. The surgery to remove a hydrocele (hydrocelectomy) can be done under general or regional anaesthesia. An incision is made in the scrotum or lower abdomen to remove the hydrocele. If a hydrocele is found during surgery to repair an inguinal hernia, the surgeon might remove the hydrocele even if it's causing no discomfort.

PREVENTION

There is nothing you can do to prevent your baby from getting a hydrocele. For adolescent and adult men, the best protection against a hydrocele is to keep the testicles and scrotum free of the wound. For example, if taking part in contact sports, use an athletic cup.

Although hydroceles are usually not a major health issue, you should tell your healthcare provider about any abnormality or node in the scrotum. Another disease or condition may be causing or mimicking the abnormality.
